Welcome to Your Local Radio Station
We’re proud to be your local station for South Shields, Tynemouth, Newcastle, and Gateshead – broadcasting from our studios at The Pride Media Centre in Pelaw. Affinity Radio is dedicated to connecting, informing, and entertaining the North East.
Launched as Radio Shields in December 2021, we expanded in December 2024 with Affinity Radio Newcastle. Then in June 2025, following Ofcom approval, both services united to form Affinity Radio North East – one strong, community-driven station for the region.
With a mix of great music, local news, and real community stories, Affinity Radio is powered by passion and fuelled by the North East.
