It’s Great North Weekend on Affinity Radio North East and Durham OnAir as we build up to the 45th anniversary of the Great North Run.

Throughout Saturday, we’re celebrating the people, charities and incredible stories behind one of the North East’s biggest events.

We’ll be showcasing your Great North Run stories, hearing from runners taking part for causes close to their hearts, and bringing you interviews and special features ahead of the big day.

Our coverage includes conversations with Great North Run founder Sir Brendan Foster, North East Mayor Kim McGuinness, charity runners and many more voices from across the region.

Plus, our teams will be getting everything ready for Sunday when Affinity Radio North East and Durham OnAir will be LIVE from the start and finish lines.
