Great North Run 2026 – LIVE

Affinity Radio North East and Durham OnAir are joining forces for special live coverage of the 45th anniversary of the Great North Run!

We’ll be bringing you four hours of live coverage from both the start and finish lines, capturing the atmosphere as thousands of runners take on the iconic route from Newcastle to South Shields.

Our teams will have front-row access throughout the day, bringing you interviews with runners, charities, special guests and some of the people who make the Great North Run such an incredible event for the North East.

Ahead of the big day, our team has already been speaking to Great North Run founder Sir Brendan Foster, North East Mayor Kim McGuinness and runners raising money for charities across the region and beyond.
